The impact of COVID-19 on community workers
We recently surveyed our members to find out how their work life has changed because of COVID-19. Thankfully, most practitioners have kept their jobs.

While even one person losing their job is upsetting we are pleased to see, however, that the profession has not been one of the hardest hit. When times are tough, the skills and expertise of skilled community workers are invaluable.

Most community workers are now working primarily from home which is a significant shift for a people centred profession.Organisations have introduced new service delivery models, and this means our members have had to develop new skills and adapt their practice approaches quite quickly. Good habits for working remotely
The COVID-19 pandemic has many people (including us!) working from home. But as we settle into this new normal, it’s easy to fall into bad habits.

Now is the time to review your home set up and daily routines to see if they are the best they can be. Are you still working productively, practicing ethically and, importantly, taking care of yourself?

Not everyone thrives working from home and that’s okay. Everyone is trying their best in difficult circumstances - we hope our tips make it easier for you as you try to adjust.
